With more than 80 years of combined experience, we know the produce business. Formed with the merger of three family-owned produce companies, Produce Source Partners has a dedication to fresh food dating back to 1929.

1929
William C. Bova forms Quality Produce in Roanoke.
1933
Harry Saville starts Saville Produce in Newport News.
1930s-1980s
Both companies thrive as successful, family-run businesses.
1986
Bruce and Bill Baker of Richmond form Baker Brothers Produce in partnership with Norman Saville of Saville Produce.
1997
Baker Brothers Produce forms its own in-house, fresh-cut fruit and vegetable processing plant.
1999
Baker Brothers Produce, Saville Produce and Quality Produce join Pro*Act.
2000
Baker Brothers forms retail sales division Old Colony that specializes in retail grocery products. Old Colony creates a robust, Virginia-grown local produce program for retail grocery chains.
2003
Baker Brothers Produce, Quality Produce and Saville Produce merge to form Produce Source Partners, the largest independent produce distributor in Virginia.
2006
Produce Source Partners opens a 125,000 square foot operation center in Ashland. With facilities in Ashland, Roanoke and Hampton Roads, Produce Source Partners is able to service customers across the state of Virginia as well as Maryland, Washington DC and North Carolina.
2012
Produce Source Partners’ Ashland operation center becomes SQF 2000 Level 3 certified, the premier food safety certification in our industry.
