Michael & Kari Sponaugle started Church Hill Produce in 2011 by leasing an 8-acre corn field from a neighbor, bought a black plastic mulch layer and started growing produce for their two farm stands and local farmers market. In 2016, they closed their road side stands and started focusing on wholesale production. In 2017, they established their relationship with PSP, rented an additional 17 acres and pass the Good Agricultural Practices Farm Review. CHP delivers summer squash, eggplant, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, fall squash, grape and Roma tomatoes, and Brussels sprouts among other seasonal produce to PSP.
